Job Description
The Account Manager Representative is responsible for creating and maintaining positive customer relations by identifying opportunities, supporting customer needs, providing up- to-date product information and identifying solutions to any issues. Promoting and recommends the best product mix for customers with current industry knowledge and strives to meet or exceed organizational sales targets.
Education: Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a relevant area or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities:
- Works with Manager(s) to develop sales plan and consistently monitors performance
- Develops new customer base and improves customer relations where opportunities exist
- Reviews several sales reports to address opportunities and improve sales.
- Works with customers to identify needs, stocking requirements or opportunities
- Assists customers in generating a forecast for product usage.
- Schedules sales calls and joint sales calls and maintains contact with key accounts
- Facilitates vendor product demonstrations or training sessions. Internal supplier training too.
- Maintains most current knowledge of electrical products, industry trends, and social or political influences and adjusts communication of this knowledge depending on customer
- Works with Inside Sales and the Customer Service Manager on a daily basis
- Manages and updates customer pricing in the sales software system
- Reviews quotation logs and follows-up with customers in a timely manner
- Liaises with Accounts Receivable to help resolve customer credit problems or discrepancies
- Stays up to date on branch events and sales support needs
- Has the responsibility/authority to initiate action to prevent the recurrence of quality problems
Requirements:
- 2+ years of sales and customer service experience
- 1+ years of experience in the electrical/lighting industry is strongly preferred
- Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn new software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation is required
- English language proficiency
- Valid driver’s license
