The Estimator is responsible for all assigned quoting requests working in conjunction with the estimating team. While
this role is estimating and getting the work done in a timely fashion, this is also a position to DEVELOP into a
LEADER. The ability to piece together the industry, the way it works, to INCREASE the company's competitiveness.
Ensure all opportunities for success make it on the bid! Good communication skills, self-motivation, and a desire to
learn will be required. Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and the ability to reliably respond in a timely manner.


Responsibilities:


• Review incoming bids from General Email box and upload into RepEdge
• Manage assigned bids to be completed by the estimating team
• Complete Take-Offs using Bluebeam software
• Continuously review the bid board and be aware of bids closing dates
• If we are unable to bid the project, review the bid with salesperson/Air Distribution Manager. Notify the customer that we will not bid if that is the case or offer an extension
• Identify specialty products ahead of time that may require additional time for pricing
• Awareness of market conditions (exchange rate, price increases, trends) and apply them to our bids
• Complete accurate pricing using our Vendor Software
• Review all addendums that are associated with the project
• Clearly state what is included and not included on bids
• Review Mark Up Strategy with Estimating and Sales team
• Complete bids 24 hours prior to closing
• Complete IFC Reviews upon receipt of Purchase Order from Sales Team
• Support Salesperson/Project Manager by assisting in processing Change Orders and Site Instructions
• Take part in product training to stay updated.
• Able to think outside the box and provide value engineering if required
• Provide outstanding customer service, with a Customer First approach to business
• Consistently improve the quality of our service to meet client’s expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company’s competitive position
• Ensure above and beyond service levels
• Self-educate, and attend manufacturer’s factory / training visits, when and if required to ensure you are constantly up to date on the latest product developments and software tools. (Some travel will be involved when we are able to safely do so)
• Take and provide feedback from Engineering and Sales teams to improve efficiencies.
• Build sustainable customer relationships and trust with customer’s account through open communication
• Assist in all customer events as required. This could be open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc.
• Perform other duties assigned by your manager


Requirements:


• HVAC experience preferred but not required
• Ability to read Architectural and Mechanical drawings
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Detail Oriented and Organized
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• You are Self-Motivated, Creative, and Resourceful
• Ready to bring positivity, energy, and enthusiasm into the workplace
• Professional approach to business and the workplace
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure unsupervised
• Strong work ethic guided by personal integrity and mutual respect
